Weird homeschoolers? Sure, we have a few, but it may have nothing to do with homeschooling....

I'm going to give you an obnoxious truth because it has come up soooooo often lately:
Your homeschool student will only be as weird as you are.
(I totally nabbed that sentiment from Heidi St. John)

If your number one reason not to homeschool is that you feel your children will end up weird and unsocialized, step back and look at yourself.  Are you a strange bird?  Are you okay with your oddities?  Would you be okay with your quirks showing up in your children?  Most of us say "yes" to all of these things.  

Now look at the kids in public schools.  Guess what, the weird ones have weird parents most of the time.  There is a pretty direct correlation.  It's not the building a child goes to school in that makes that child weird (unless of course it is...); it's the parents....  And let's be even more honest; we're all a little "off" in some way, aren't we?

You raised that kid!  It's okay if s/he is a chip off the ol' block!  Isn't that what you were aiming for when you had children?
